Matt Jones has bounced back from his recent poor showing in the Medal to climb the winner’s podium on Wednesday the 17th of February as he shot a calculated 33 nett. Jones played flawless golf on the night, recording 3 gross birdies and a solitary bogey on the short dog leg left 14th as his only errant tee shot found some rather nasty cabbage. Gillian Wright secured 2nd Place on the evening as a result of young Mr Jones superior tally in the count back and seems to have her game nicely under control as the Club Championships loom on the horizon.

Joe Wivou shocked everyone this week with his 3rd Placing as his form this year has been the polar opposite of the previous year where he won just about every title on the calendar. Joe shot a solid 2 over par 38 gross despite making a dirty double on hole 10 but regrouped his thoughts and rallied over the remaining holes to hold steady and sign off for a 34 nett and some much needed Golfer of the Year points.

Being a very greedy boy, Matt Jones also took home nearest the pin prize on hole 12 after a laser like strike to a mere 6ft and Mike Richardson was victorious on hole 16. Spooner on the night was a new face to Tower Links, Mr Zac Postans who scored a less than impressive 53 nett and to be brutally honest his scores per hole reflected the numbers you are likely to hear at the judging of a figure skating competition.
