Paul Williams was victorious in the social par 3 challenge stableford on Wednesday the 14th July after shooting a splendid 22 stableford points. Williams has be absent for the past couple of weeks which seems to have worked a treat as he bounced back with vigour to claim a 1 point winning margin and relegate a poor old Dutchman into the bridesmaids position again.

Ruurd Abma was the runner up on the night with 21 points and will forever think about the only low point to his back nine card, the solitary point scored on the dreaded little par 3, 16th. That hole cost Ruurd the title, but I am sure that within the next 4 years we will see him feature again on the winner’s carpet, this time holding the number 1 position.

The ever green Terry Belton finished in third position after winning the card count back with Mr Shinjiro Hino after both chaps finished on 20 stableford points. Hino should have put Terry to bed before dinner but made a mess on hole 15, a poor tee shot followed by some poor chipping sealed his feat and left brawler Belton to steal his thunder.

Ashutosh Shukla really struggled with his game under the rising humidity as he was crowned the SPOONER on the night with his teeny tally of 11pts. Ash not only walked away with the treasured timber trophy but a very nice prize from our wonderful sponsors Asiana who have looked after us very generously this season. Julpher retail by Trubel who are a recent edition to sponsoring our social competitions must also be thanked for their continued generosity in supplying the winners their prizes.
