Yuki strings em along
With a new competition format called string ball stableford, Yuki Pellerine claimed 1st place in the social on Wednesday the 23 of June after posting an imperial 22 stableford points. Instead of a handicap, players received lengths of string according to the amount of stokes they would normally receive in the 9 hole competition.
You could use the string whenever and wherever you liked to get out of trouble or to make a long put shorter, but once you had used it up that was it, you were on your own. Yuki’s string was 8 metres long and she used it very wisely as her tally even included a wash on hole 13 but on holes 14 and 15 she posted 4 points apiece to erase the disappointment of unlucky 13.
Our very own aqua man, Andy Jubber hit an unchartered depth as he posted 21 stableford points to claim outright second despite coming up for air on his opening hole where he failed to register a score. Chris Parry got the wood over Johan Buxmann and thirsty traveller Dan Greenfield in the countback as his final 6 hole tally proved a tad more fruitful with 12 stableford points.
